Being Able to Help

We often see sad or sobering stories in the news or even on our Facebook feeds and feel helpless to actually do something to make a difference. Well, here is your chance to make a difference in the life of a young person who is struggling financially to make the dream of a college education come true.

Here’s Johana. Her dad died when she was young, and her family has been struggling financially ever since. Despite not knowing how she will be able to pay, she’s very focused on getting a college education.

This is David. His mom, who was raising David and his brother on her own, died when they were in high school. Things are very tough financially, but he’s determined to get a college education.

You can watch their moving videos here. Johanna and David have each received $5,000 from the LIFE Lessons Scholarship Program. You can help them along by voting here for LIFE’s Grand Prize Video Scholarship Award, which will mean an additional $5,000 scholarship.

This year the LIFE Lessons Scholarship Program will award 61 scholarships totaling $110,000 to young people just like David and Johana. You can help additional students by donating to the program here.
