Thomas D. “Tom” Currey, CLU, ChFC, LUTCF, is a veteran of over 35 years in the financial services industry.
Currey is a native Texan, born in Rockdale, Texas, and a graduate of Baylor University. He did graduate work at Texas A&M Commerce. Before he began his financial services career, Currey was already a success in the music business. He has been a player and conductor in bands, music productions, recording studios, movie sets, church choirs and as a teacher to young musicians.
His financial services experience includes everything from selling and training to recruiting and development. His leadership experience began even before his career as a financial services professional. Currey served in varied leadership positions in his professional association, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), on his way to becoming president of his local and state associations, and lastly as its national president in 2009-10.
Currey is in demand as a speaker on leadership and excellent board governance. The challenges of volunteer leadership are greater than ever and Currey provides insights helpful to both volunteer leaders and professional staff. He also speaks on the business of life and balance.
And Currey is taking his own medicine these days. He balances his music, speaking and selling into a balanced career that keeps him happy, productive and solvent.
Currey and his wife, Charlotte, have been married 41 years and have four sons, three daughters-in-law, and one grandson.
