Focused on Making a Better Life

Elizabeth Iskow is the first person in her family to go to college, and is determined to make a better life for herself. Her young life has been filled with sorrow. Her dad died of a heart attack after a long struggle with diabetes. Because her father didn’t have life insurance, her mother struggled mightily to keep things afloat financially, but they ended up losing their home. It’s a poignant reminder of how difficult life can become for children if you fail to plan ahead for their financial future.

Elizabeth is one of 61 LIFE Lessons Scholarship recipients who were awarded money this year to help  pay for college. Watch her story, and if you feel so moved, you can donate to the LIFE Lessons Scholarship Program here.

You also have the opportunity to help another deserving young person. Vote here for LIFE’s $10,000 video scholarship winner.
