Michael P. Corry is the president of The Todd Organization in St. Louis, Mo., and for 38 years, has served his clients as an Executive Benefit Consultant. The Todd Organization and its strategic partner, The Newport Group, provide qualified and non-qualified retirement plan sponsors: Consulting, Asset Management, Communication and Education, and Third Party Administration.
Corry represents the interest of Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation Plan Sponsors in Congress and with the IRS. He served on the board of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU) in Washington DC from 2002 to 2010 and as the president from 2008 to 2009 – an organization that led the efforts to keep the favorable tax treatment of Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation Plans and Corporate Owned Life Insurance (COLI). Corry was very involved in the development and passage of legislation that clarified the rules for Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation Plans and COLI in 2004 to 2006. He also helped create a Task Force that will mobilize should Congress consider legislation altering the current tax treatment of Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation Plans and Corporate Owned Life Insurance (COLI).
A frequent speaker, Corry has given talks at the national conferences of the Forum 400 (formerly the International Forum), AALU, the Society of Financial Service Professionals (FSP) and the Institute of International Research. He has been published on the topic of executive benefits, including several articles for The Journal of Compensation and Benefits and The Journal of Taxation of Employee Benefits.
