Next Generation Financial Literacy Program

Life Happens’ Next Generation high school financial literacy program has reached more than 30 million students and more than 100,000 teachers nationwide since its launch in 1997. In 2013, Life Happens joined with Scholastic for its newest iteration of the program which is designed to provide high school teachers with tools to educate students about the importance of proper financial planning and risk management, as well as life, health and disability insurance. The program is entirely web-based and free of charge at

Each module has a teacher’s guide on how to teach the segment, corresponding student activities, videos, and interactive quizzes. Teachers can utilize the complete program or teach the modules as stand-alone segments who wish to present some, but not all, of the various components.

To get involved in the program, introduce the Next Generation program to teachers you know and bring insurance education to your community. Also you can serve as a guest speaker by sharing your expertise and real world perspective to the classroom. For questions please email Julie Holsinger at
