Calling all Insurance Agents: How Have You Made a Difference in Your Clients’ Lives?
LIFE Foundation and Newsweek Encourage Producers to Share their Stories for 12th Annual realLIFEstories Client Service Award Program
Washington, D.C. – January 22, 2007 – Once again, The Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE) has teamed with Newsweek magazine to honor insurance professionals who have made a significant difference in the lives of their clients. As part of its 12th annual realLIFEstories Client Service Award program, LIFE is encouraging agents to submit stories from their careers that showcase how the benefits of life, disability income, long-term care or health insurance have helped their clients overcome difficult emotional and financial obstacles. An independent panel of judges will review all submissions and choose four winners to be featured in a special advertising section in an upcoming issue of Newsweek.
"There is nothing more powerful than a personal story to help illustrate the vital role insurance plays in securing a family’s financial future," said David F. Woods, CLU, ChFC, president of LIFE. "Through this program, we hope to motivate Americans to get the coverage they need to protect their loved ones."
The four insurance professionals whose stories are chosen will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for themselves and a guest to Washington, D.C. the weekend of September 7, 2007. There they will be honored by their industry peers, alongside their clients, at the realLIFEstories Client Service Award Banquet held during the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) annual convention.
Though only four stories will be selected to appear in Newsweek, LIFE makes use of many of the non-winning stories in other aspects of its public education program. "We believe realLIFEstories are the best resource we have to get Americans thinking about their need for insurance, which is why we feature them in our ads, on our website and in so many of our other educational initiatives," said Mr. Woods. "Our ability to tell these stories is totally dependent on the number of stories we receive, so we urge all producers to recall a time in their careers when smart insurance planning saved the day for one of their clients."
